Bhutan Tour (Cultural Introduction and
Beyond) (10 nights / 11days)
Day 01: Arrive Paro / Chunzom – Thimphu
On arrival at Paro Airport, you will go through the Immigrations
formalities.
Meet the representative from Bhutan Journeys on arrival and
drive to Paro Town
Afternoon take a 2 hours leisurely drive to Thimphu, (Capital
City of Bhutan) through astounding country side.
On arrival your will settle down at hotel and Evening take a
walk around Thimphu town.

Day 02: Thimphu – Sightseeing
Morning, visit to School of Arts & Crafts, Textile & Folk
Heritage Museum and Memorial Chorten (Stupa).
Afternoon drive to Sangay Gang (BBS Tower) to glimpse the view
of Thimphu valley.
En-route visit Mini zoo to see the National Animal “Takin” and
followed by visit to Tashi ChoDzong (main seat of the government
and summer residence of Jey Khenpo (Chief Abbot) and central
monk body and Handicrafts shops.

Day 03: Thimphu – Dochula (3050m) and Punakha (71 km)
Morning visit the Traditional paper Factory
Depart for Punakha, drive takes about 3 hours over Dochul la
pass ( 3050m)
The pass is dotted with many chortens (stupas) and colourful
flags), offers a stunning views of eastern Himlayan peaks on a
clear day.
Stop at the Dochula cafeteria for light refreshment and descend
to the fertile valley of Lobesa.
After 20 minutes of driving, you will arrive at your hotel. You
will settle down at the hotel and have some lunch.
Afternoon drive to visit Punakha Dzong (the most impressive
Dzong in the country, ideally located between the two rivers.
Drive back to the hotel.

Day 04: Punakha–via Wangdue/Phelela pass(3350m) and Chendebji
chorten/Trongsa (220kms)
Morning drive to Trongsa via Wangdue takes about 6-7 hours.
Pass though Wangdue town and drive to Pelela pass, you will see
the every changing beautiful sceneries of rural Bhutan
surrounded by Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Park.
After crossing the pass, descend the landscape of dwarf bamboo
and rhododendrons reroute to Chendebiji Chorten modeled after
the famous Sawayambhunath Stupa in Nepal. Lunch at Chendebiji
Cafeteria.
Dive for 2 hours to Trongsa
Afternoon relax at the hotel.
Dinner and Overnight
Day 5: Trongsa – Yutongla / Chumey / (Jakar) Bumthang (69 Km)
3 hours)
Morning visit the Trongsa Dzong (the biggest Dzong in the
country and played a vital role in shaping the political history
of Bhutan.
Depart for Jakar (Bumthang) heart land of Buddhism over Yutongla
pass ( 3400m ( highest point of your trip)
Descend to the valley of Geytsa and stop at the Zuney village to
see the Yathra weaving center( woolen Cloths)
Drive about 20 minutes To Jakar to your hotel
Evening at leisure
Dinner and Overnight: Hotel
Day 6: Bumthang Sightseeing
Morning visit the following places of cultural interest.
Visit Jambay Lakhang, Kurjey and Tamshing
Afternoon visit Swiss Cheese Factory and Fruit processing unit
and Jakar Dzong on time availability.
Evening free time to explore
Dinner and overnight: Hotel
Day 7: Bumthang – via Trongsa / Wangdue (200 km)
Morning depart to Wangdue and drive takes about 7-8 hours)
Evening at leisure
Dinner and overnight: Hotel
Day 8: Wangdue – Thimphu (78 kms)
Morning drive to Wangdue town, stop and walk through the
town.
Drive to Dochula for Lunch.
Afternoon drive to Thimphu and free time to explore.

Day 9: Thimphu – Paro ( 59 km)
Depart for Paro and drive takes 2 hours
You will check in at the hotel and have some lunch.
Afternoon you will visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), which shed
further light that you saw on your trip.
Visit Rinpung Dzong built in 1646, which houses the
administrative center for Paro District and religious institute
for monks. Walk down to the coach crossing over the wooden
covered bridge called (Nymezampa) which spans over Paro River.
Dinner and overnight: Hotel
Day 10: Paro / Taktsang Excursion or local Sightseeing
Morning drive towards the north of Paro Valley to
Ramthangkha and hike to visit Taktsang monastery.
The trail climbs through beautiful pine forest, many of tress
festooned with moss and an occasional grove of fluttering
prayers flags.
This monastery is one of the most venerated and sacred of all
Buddhist sights around the world.
The legend has it that Guru Rimpoche( founding saint of
Buddhism) flew from eastern Bhutan on a tigress and meditated
for three months.
Permits will be arranged to visit the monastery and can arrange
a horse ridding till the cafeteria. After visiting the
monastery, walk down to cafeteria for lunch. Afternoon walk down
to the base and drive to Paro town.
Drive back to your hotel
Farewell Dinner and Overnight: Hotel
Day 11: Paro Airport
Morning drive to airport for your onward flight destination.
